Hello I’m Back :)

Hello, I’m back! 🙂 To those who are new to my website, welcome! Let me introduce myself. My name is Komal, and I am a doctor. I completed my MBBS in Pakistan, and three years ago, I started working in the NHS at Dudley and Bristol hospitals and also tried to work as a locum doctor for a few months. Currently, I am enjoying some time off, which feels nice. This is the first break I’ve taken in my life, and as I sit on my bed writing this, I appreciate the downtime.

Alongside my medical career, I ran a fashion blog for nearly a decade around 152,000 followers on Instagram. I also contributed to several fashion magazines and wrote for a national newspaper in Pakistan called Jung for almost ten years.

For those who know me, many might be wondering what happened and why I suddenly disappeared. I deactivated all my social media accounts, including Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook, and even changed my WhatsApp number. I’m currently in contact with no one except my parents and siblings.

There isn’t one if you’re looking for a single reason behind this decision. I simply needed a break, as I had never really taken one before. I was constantly studying, working, and running blogs without truly understanding what I was doing. So, I wanted to take some time to reflect on my life—what I’m doing and why. During this period, Instagram decided to ban / Deactivate my account because I was very actively posting about the Palestine issue and when this happened I felt that if I was going to step away from everything else, I also needed to take a break from social media also

If anyone is wondering how this break is going for me, I can’t say anything with certainty right now. Perhaps at the end of 2025, I’ll share how this time away has been. For the first time in my life, I’ve handed everything over to God. I’m trusting His plans and trying not to make any for myself. And honestly, this feels good. Handing your things to God feels good. those people who used to follow me might remember I used to write weekly blog kind of posts on Instagram on Friday and always used to talk about Allah’s plan. He’s the best planner and we need to leave things in hand of him. But………. to be very honest, when I’m writing this, I don’t think so. I used to follow this one hundred per cent at that time. I remember I used to work in a hospital, and I hated that hospital, those people who know me I don’t use the word hate so often, so if I’m saying hate I mean it I really hated this hospital and I didn’t leave because I was thinking, maybe I will get a job or not maybe I will pay rent or not maybe I will have a money or not what I’m gonna do after that and that is not what you are leaving your mattress in hand of Allah

I’m currently on a long break and not earning, but to be honest, I’m fine with that. Sure, I can’t order expensive things, but I’m happy with my old things. Even I’ve been selling & decluttering my life (that’s another story) . I plan to write a blog about this because those who have known me for a while remember how much I was into fashion and trends. You wouldn’t believe how much I have sold! This journey has made me realize how much we spend on things that really don’t matter.

The good thing about living in Pakistan is that you can stay with your parents, so you don’t have to worry about rent, bills or groceries. I feel blessed in that regard.

Career-wise, I don’t want to pursue anything for a year or two, and I firmly believe that taking a break from your career won’t make you unsuccessful.

I was considering launching my website on New Year’s and updating everyone in 2025, but then I read a blog that said, “Why wait for 2025 and waste more days? If you want to do it, just do it!”

As for New Year’s, I don’t have any resolutions. I’m excited about Ramadan; after three to four years, I’ll spend it with my family in my home. I’m looking forward to listening to Azhan, sitting in Suhor and Aftari with my parents, and celebrating with them, Insha’Allah. I’m looking forward to dressing up, wearing bangles, and getting Mehndi done. I’m excited about Eid and celebrating Eid, which I haven’t enjoyed at home for almost three to four years now. (like I missed roughly 8-9 Eid without Parents) That’s my 2025 plan so far.

For those of you who are new to my website or find my story uninteresting, don’t worry. I’m a very private person and won’t be posting much about myself. I hardly post anything, but I’m sharing this because my old followers and friends were unable to reach out to me. I’ve even deleted my WhatsApp account, so I’m pretty out of touch with everyone.

For new people, why follow this blog? We share fashion, discuss trends, talk about fashion shows, and cover red carpets (when I say cover, you will see what that means). 😀

What’s new? My blog will reflect my current focus, which includes more affordable fashion trends and sustainability. We’ll talk about quality over quantity, decluttering your life, and selling or giving away items you don’t need. If you haven’t worn something in the past year, why keep it? I encourage you not to overspend, especially during sales events like Black Friday or Cyber Monday etc (coming soon)

While my Instagram blog centred on international fashion, you will now see a significant focus on Pakistani fashion trends. Maybe this is because I am not in the UK anymore, or after moving back to Pakistan, I’ve grown to appreciate the elegance and wearability of local fashion.

If you have any questions, thoughts, or specific topics you’d like to see on my blog, please feel free to comment. I hope you’ll subscribe, like, and comment. Happy New Year in advance!

XoXo
