Do you remember when Mahira Khan posted that one wedding photo how it broke the Internet and how we were excited as a fan? Last talk about her wedding looks
The first look we saw was a beautiful dress designed by Faraz Manan. I love the colour and am so glad she chose white instead of the typical red. While I appreciate red bridal gowns, I personally prefer any colour over that, so I really love this choice. The details on the stunning border and veil are exquisite. She also added a personal touch with the puffy shoulders, which I adore. We haven’t seen puffy shoulders in bridal outfits before, and I think she may have started a trend. I’ve noticed that a Bollywood celebrity wore a similar style with puffy sleeves at her wedding (check the photos for what I’m talking about).
I love the purple dress from Menahel & Mehreen. I am a huge fan of Menahel & Mehreen. If someone were to give me the option to wear just one designer for the rest of my life, I would most likely choose Menahel & Mehreen. She was wearing a purple frock with churidar, and I absolutely love the detailed work on the bottom of the churidar. I also think the necklace completed the look perfectly. I love that necklace! I even tried to connect with her one friend, to ask her about the necklace. She told me it was an old necklace from Hyderabad. it really is a beautiful piece!
This beautiful dress from Ranosheirloom and I couldn’t help but notice how many copies and replicas of it are out there—literally so many! The dress was stunning; the wearer showcased it beautifully at a Mehndi event, styled with open hair, jhumka earrings, and no necklace with plenty of bangles. I love the details in the garage paired with the chatapati, which is a very traditional Pakistani style presented in an elegant way. The colours of the chatapati were bright but not overwhelming, balancing perfectly with a lovely green dupatta and an ivory or gold shirt.
I have a favourite dress by the designer Umar Syed, featuring a beautiful Hyderabadi shirt paired with churidar. I first saw this dress when Sana Javed wore it at her first wedding, and she looked stunning in it. (see below) This dress is elegant and timeless, never truly out of style. I admire how she complemented it with simple khussas ,low hair bun, minimal makeup and a delicate flower mala.
There are two yellow dresses: one from Élan and one from Zara Shahjahan. I love both dresses, but there isn’t anything particularly new about them. The Élan saree, on the other hand, is very beautiful and elegant in its simplicity. I love how it is styled with loose hair and a simple mehndi look.
I particularly loved one dress he wore after the wedding events. It was from Zara Shahjahan, and I love the way how she styled it with a ponytail and a Lehnga Choli. Very few people opt for a ponytail with this traditional outfit; most of the time, people choose to wear their hair down or in a traditional bun. She looked both very girly and truly traditional at the same time.
Most people say that the last dress was likely for the reception, although I’m not entirely sure which event it was for. I love this saree from Bunto Kazmi; she wore it so beautifully. The way she paired the Chocker necklace, Jhumka and add of mala was stunning. The dress was a golden maroon saree with a nice green colour that really stood out.
I love her a lot, and I can see Mahira Khan in every look. I adore the way she enjoyed her wedding. Her son was with her, her brother and close friends. It was a very non-celebrity wedding, where she truly celebrated her big day with her family and friends. While there were a few celebrity faces present, they were her best friends.
I love small, intimate weddings, and her event perfectly reflected that. Her looks showcased that she is Mahira Khan; she wasn’t imitating any other celebrities or following trends. There weren’t any overly bright, screaming colours, nor was she wearing a lot of jewellery. She opted for simple, elegant necklaces and could be seen wearing a classic piece that is always in style.
In her previous events, she wore two or three pieces (like churidar etc) that were not in fashion at that time but are timelessly elegant. Not every bride chooses such understated jewellery, and she decided to embrace that simplicity.
What look did you like the most? I might be biased because I’m a huge fan of hers, but I think she looks beautiful. I wish her lots of love and a successful marriage. Ameen.
